WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart—and her virginity—to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.
She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious—her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands—with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club—to give them a better life.
Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way…
Sexy. Gritty. Raw. Those are just a few choice words to describe my feelings towards Ruger and his and Sophie’s story in the 2nd installment of the Reapers MC series.
When Sophie gave away her heart and her virginity to Zach, never did she expect an audience with his scary biker step-brother. Or that baby she gives birth to 9 months later. Ruger never expected the feelings he felt toward the girl getting deflowered on his couch. Nor did he expect to take the role on as surrogate dad when his step-brother relinquished his role. While the history between Sophie and Ruger seems impossibly romantic and destined for happily ever after, the reality is anything but.
“I think you’re a raging asshole.
“Yeah, well I think you’re a bitch, but my cock likes you, so we’ll figure something out.”
Sophie is determined to not let another man, especially a man like Ruger, cloud her judgement again. But life as a single mother is hard. After becoming pregnant, her family disowns her and the only person she can rely on comes in the form of one hot, scary ass biker. When Sophie finds herself in a dangerous situation that threatens the life of her son, Ruger’s hand is forced into taking care of Sophie, despite her resistance.
When Sophie and her son, Noah, move into Ruger’s home the sexual tension that they have been fighting for years comes to a screaming boil.
“I want to own every part of you,” he continued, his breath hot against my skin. “I want to throw you face-first across this counter, rip off those shorts and fuck you hard and fast until my goddamn cock stops hurting and my balls don’t feel like they’re gonna explode.”
But Sophie isn’t fond of the MC way of life. And Ruger isn’t a one woman kind of man. For these two the course of true love does not run smoothly….
If I can give you one reason to read this book it would have to be Ruger. He is rough, tough and a complete badass. I LOVE my men a little tattered around the edges and despite his cocky and sometimes rude demeanor he truly is a GOOD man.
Sophie, most of my issues in this book are because of her. I understand her reasoning behind not wanting her child around the MC, as well as her hesitance towards Ruger, but she was hot and cold and it was hard to warm up to her. By the end of the book I was more of a fan, but she will test your patience.
This book kept me thoroughly entertained. Not only was Ruger just delicious but the storyline was very exciting. I think these books are perfect for those wanting some grit to their romances, but not enough to scare them away.
