Five For Friday is a weekly Q&A I will be hosting dedicated to the people behind your favorite reviews ; the bloggers. I will be asking 5 questions to help us readers learn a little more about the bloggers we love to follow! Those who participate can use this platform however they want! This is my way of showing appreciation to the community that has welcomed me with open arms. To kick off today’s Five For Friday post let me introduce you to Ava from Book Nerds Anonymous!!!
My name is Ava, I live in a tiny village in Scotland. By day I’m a nursery (kindergarten) teacher and by night I’m a book worm! I have always been a reader from a young age and it is something I enjoy greatly. It wasn’t until last year when I read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McQuire that my passion for reading was reignited. I then searched online for similar books and then discovered book people on Twitter and Goodreads. I probably read more books in the space of six months than I had in the last two years combined.
I then decided to start a blog as I wanted to tell everyone about these great books and get great recommendations. I became a bit of an addict you could say and I would get engrossed in the story, often having to remind myself that these characters are not in fact real! So that’s how Book Nerds Anonymous was born; I needed to create a rehab LOL.
I love to read Young Adult, New Adult and Adult books in the genres of contemporary romance, crime, suspense and paranormal. But I usually go by the book itself and if it appeals to me I’ll read it. I wanted to expand on the genres out there so my fellow book nerd Brianna occasionally blogs with me as she likes urban fantasy and dystopian novels so we try to include a bit of everything.
When I’m not reading, I’m a busy mum of one so I’m kept busy. My other vices would be music and movies and of course ice cream, who could live in a world without ice cream?
How people can connect with Ava:
Q & A
1. If you could be one character in a book who would it be and why?
Ummmm… that’s a good question. I would probably say Eva Tramell from the Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day. I like a sassy chick who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and stands up for herself. I would say Destiny’s Child ‘Independent Women’ is the theme song for my life lol. I’m all about strong women! I have this image in my head as I was talking to an author, Alessandra Thomas on Twitter about body size and being body confident she showed me this picture and we both agreed she was beautiful. I love this picture because I think we should all love our bodies and not to focus on dress size etc. Just be happy and proud
2. Go to page 150 and read me the 5th sentence. Include the book name and the author.
“Rush, I promise you that everything is fine. I’m okay,” I assured him, cupping his face in my hands. ~ Never Too Far by Abbi Glines
3. Describe your ultimate book boyfriend.
Ooo that’s a hard one *thinks carefully* It would probably be a mixture of book boyfriends. I love the sweetness of Holder from Hopeless, the ruggedness and tattoos of Travis from Beautiful Disaster and then I’d have to stick to my roots and choose a sexy Scottish man, so I’d include some of Braden’s sex appeal from On Dublin Street. I have just literally finished reading Wait for You by J. Lynn and I can’t talk about book boyfriends and not mention Cameron “Cam” Hamilton! Cam has literally just taken the BBF crown, I swooned continuously while reading this book *sigh* he’s so dreamy and I love a guy with a cheeky sense of humor. So he needs to be included for sure!!*
And the hybrid of guys would look something like this!
My favourite new read of this year so far would have to be Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren.
It was such a fun, flirty romance. I haven’t laughed out loud while reading in so long. I loved both of the main characters as they were strong and feisty as the other. It was a great refreshing read.
5. What was the last book to make you cry?
Well, I cry so easily it’s unreal! Seriously even a simple book quote can make me cry it doesn’t even have to be a full line LOL. The last book would be Never Too Far by Abbi Glines as I’ve just finished it. There was a scene towards the end when Blaire’s dad was talking to her about her mum and yeah that set me off!!!
