It’s time for more men and motorcycles in the latest from the New York Times bestselling author of Reaper’s Fall...
The club comes first.
I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.
Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.
I’m coming for you, Tinker.
It pains me to write this review but it must be done and I’ll be keeping it short and sweet. I didn’t like the latest installment in the Reaper’s MC series. It’s especially a bummer since I have been waiting for so long for it to come out but it just didn’t work for me. You ever start reading a book and you just continuously wait and wait for it to get to the good part? That’s kind of how I felt the whole time, which SUCKS because Gage and Tink had hella chemistry. Can I just say for the record that Tink as a name is just bleh? That’s just a personal preference and not any bearing on my review or rating, I just had a hard time taking her seriously. But what kills me the most was that this really had all the makings of a really good story. Gage and Tink had the chemistry but I just didn’t care for how they came together. View Spoiler »Gage is undercover for the Reaper’s and basically his job is to get into a rival MC club. The way he get’s in is by screwing the despicable sister of the club leader. He bangs her pretty much throughout the book and this is what initially keeps Gage and Tink separated. « Hide Spoiler I have read books in which something similar has gone on between characters, but once Tink and Gage came together it felt like it was purely out of lust and not love. I don’t know why this bothered me, as these MC men aren’t usually hearts and flowers but I think I was expecting more. Although it managed to keep my interest, it did not score high on my list and that’s why I am rating it as such. I’m still looking forward to whatever Ms. Wylde puts out next because I really do love this series as a whole.
